Question about Pods Air Filters

I've searched for a post I read before but can't find it now. It listed another K&N air filter that would work in place of the RU-0600. Instead of a straight mounting sleeve it was angled. Anyone else read that post or know what the part number is? I thought it was something like RU-1150 but at 6" tall it's too big.

Garage
Skyking go have a look at the Larry Rymal pods set up in the KB. I think that's the one you are looking for. The filter he uses is the 1150 and they're pics tomshow that it all fits.
Hope this helps.

i started with the larry rymal pods.basically he was trying to quiet the sound bouncing off the windshield.naked bikes dont apply...
the 1150 are 3 inch high 0600 4 inch the 1150s fit under the tank a bit better, the 0600 you have to swap carb boots.the amount of air being taken in is not debatable

Get the ru 1700. Same filter dimensions as the 600 with an angled flange.

When I did my pods I bought 2 600's and 2 1700's and then took my bike apart. I was not sure which I would use but wanted to have both on hand for the least amount of downtime. The 600 ended up being the best fit for me. Instead of the exhaust tube thing some ppl do to hold the filter in, I put a very small film of rtv on the rubber flanges before sliding them together and then used 3 #4 wood screws (just long enough to grab both layers) evenly spaced around the outside of the rubber boot. The rtv sealed it and the screws keep it all in place, to remove it for cleaning I just take the boot off at the carb. Now to the reason for the filter choice. Though k&n lists the same flange size for both filters, I found the 1700 flange to be slightly smaller, and not seal up as well inside the factory carb boot.

Thanks for that info.

Question to all again. When I look up a RU-1150 it comes up as a 6" tall filter. Is there a different prefix to use on that 1150 number to come up with a 3" tall filter?
