Moving the main wiring bundle

I am going to be attempting to put a different tank on my bike soon. One of the main things I need to do first i move that main cluster of wires under the frame. Right where the seat/tank attach to the frame a large cluster of wires comes out from underneath the tank and comes OVER the frame to go back under the seat. I would like to reroute it to go under the frame so the tank can be mounted more easily. My question is, which end do you think is easier/more advised to disconnect so I can reroute it? I was just quickly looking and both ends become a dense mess at either ends. I was thinking the rear, but a few small wires go off onto the alternator, and I am not sure how easy/fragile they are, as I've never removed the cover. Thanks in advance!

Be careful

I am OLD SCHOOL, IF IT WORKS, DON'T FIX IT.
IF YOU STRONGLY DETERMINE YOU MUST DO THIS, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!
I would use masking tape and label each wire either NUMBER or ALPHABET.
If there is a connector label both sides (matching NUMBER or ALPHABET. )
Use BLACK NYLON TIES to secure wire loom back to the frame, use only BLACK.
My 2cents worth.

Just get the bike stripped down to the frame and you can decide from there. BTW...what kind of bike is it?
