I am sure the manual has a list and you can go to

http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/...starthere.aspx

to get your manual.

Post a pic of your ride.

Ok. I looked at the manual online. Says 6000mi for oil, 12000mi for checking valves? Seems like a lot.

O2 it is a lot at first. I have an 09' 950t and bought it used with 12k and went ahead and bought the service manual off the Internet. It's worth the purchase and with this being your first bike, I truly recommend getting one. Just my 1.5 cents worth.

those numbers seem off. my manual suggests oil changes every 3K miles with new filter every 6K miles, and valve checks every 16K miles.

Those are the numbers from my manual as well.

The 6k oil change numbers though seems to be with the times of modern oils, cars/trucks. Synthetics. But I'm still old school in thinking, 3k oil/filter regardless.

16k for valve checks/adjustment is what the manual states for the 09's +

Ok i was looking at the wrong manual. For a xvs950a, whatever that is. It said 12k mi for valves. I followed the link above and saw the correct info. Thanks...
