I need to rotate my handlebars up, (bars hit my legs trying to do lock to lock low speed turning practice) but I can’t figure out how to take off the dustcovers to get to the capscrews. I think they just pop in and out, but I don’t want to damage them trying. Any suggestions?
agreed. don't know of any 'trick' to it other than something really flat that you can prior under the cover and just be really careful to not scratch anything.
I had to take off the windshield to get to the front capscrews and broke the tip off a old steak knife trying to pop out the dustcovers. The rotation to the bar themselves was the easy part.
A note to others who may read this, the plastic chrome dustcovers just snap into the open area for the allen wrench on the top of the cap screw. After I re-installed the windshield, I had to reposition both the clutch and front brake mounts as the lines was going to be rubbing the edge of the windshield. Slightly loose the brake line connector to rotate, (no air in or fluid out).
I mask around any area where I'm prying, using a punch, etc on guns, bikes, etc. Easy to remove with little mess.
