V star 1100 idle issues

So my bike started running really off on the way home today , it ran high idle most of the time , only kicking down slightly at lights , then once I got to where I park it , it stalled and didn't want to start , I turned the choke to full and it started roughly ( engine at this point was operating temp ) once I turned down the choke the idle got higher and blew black smoke out and wouldn't go down

It did this once before for a few min and then went back to normal

The bike has the chubby air intake kit, pcs thug star pipes with Tim b's idle screws

Any suggestions would be great

Start with a carb synch....then it may be time to get inside and do some cleaning...

Soooo this is dumb but a hose from my pod kit oil collector wasn't letting the choke return fully

Isn't it great when you figure it out and it's a "duh!"...

My adventures include fast idling once warm (carb sync), severe backfiring out of nowhere (vacuum cap popped off) and dying at stop lights (K&N pod had loosened and was sucking air).

Way I look at it is, if you ain't gotta crack open the engine, it ain't that bad.
