950 touring windshield? Who makes it

What are the stock windshields on the 950 touring models. Are they rebranded from a main manufacturer? Was thinking about getting the next larger size but don't know if i can get one not from Yamaha.

I don't know about Yamaha, most of their stuff is a bit pricey.

I put a ClearView shield on my 950 and was quite satisfied. With the recurve at the top, being wider than the stock and having the adjustable vent, the area behind it was almost perfect. I could actually communicate with my wife while going down the road.

Their shields are also thicker and you won't notice the vibration at the edges as much. Great value compared to OEM.

I haven't seen that brand before. I would love to have an adjustable vent in the windscreen.

I'm not sure who makes the stock windshield. It's okay, but I wish they would have added quick release to it.

I have been thinking about buying the lowers for it. Now that I have seen the ClearView ... I might have to wait and same some extra money.

I found that with the 950, three things contribute to problem buffeting:
Air coming up from under the windshield.
Air coming over the windshield because of difference in air pressure
The angle of the shield in relation to the fork angle.
(see this post http://www.yamahamotorcycleforum.com...ad.php?t=36370 )

The Clearview with the vent took care of the 2nd issue above. The vent equalized the air pressure and did away with a lot of turbulence and the recurve took the air about 2-3 more inches above my head.

Lowers are a must in my opinion and Louis in the link above figured out that the angle of the shield causes some of the problems with this bike.

Fix all three issues and it is perfect.

National Cycle makes the windscreen for my Deluxe. The NC symbol is even still on it. I don't know if it can be bought direct, though. They DO make windshields for the 950 along with Memphis Shades. A little searching and you'll find more. The options aren't limitless, but there's not much left for wanting.
