Clutch, brake lines and holders

After installing new bars and re routing cables in the front, my new cable setup resembles an "X" pattern because I remove the lines from the stock guides on the tree so they wouldn't be kinked. Now I'm wondering if thats ok and if the lines need to be in the guides in the tree or if they can just be left to their own will?

From the way you describe it, it seems the only problem you should have is cosmetic. It's good to not have kinks and cables like larger bends. If the cables flop in the wind you can find cable clamps ( http://www.jpcycles.com/motorcycle-c...mponents?Nao=0 ) to attach in customs locations.

As long as their not going crazy all over the place, you're fine. But if you want to clean up the look, what sparkn suggested is a good way to go.
