1300 deluxe (2013) exhausts

Whats up everyone? So, I'm looking for something that first of all is going to fit with the hard saddlebags and second is not obnoxiously loud. A nice deep rumble would be great. I talked to some guys at the stealership and they were not sure if any exhausts woukd fit with the deluxe saddlebags. I dont know if im looking in the wrong places but it doesnt seem like there are too many people making upgrades to these bikes. Well, hope to hear something from you guys. Ride safe!

Take the stock off and see if you can modify it.

There is nothing special about the exhaust in relation to the bags. Obviously, the things to look for are having them exit sufficiently to the rear and they shouldn't point up or rise above the swing arm (Vance and Hines Big Shots 2-2 appear to be too high but the Cobra Speedster X-tra Long look fine). 2-1 horizontal pipes pretty much all fit (there's one that points up that won't).

To me they are all too loud. Quiet baffle options and a good stove rope wrap will help even the tone and quiet them down when cruising. A call to
Shane at www.sscustomcycle.com when you're ready to purchase will help ensure you buy a compatible product. He owns a V Star and is committed to the lineup.

Have you drilled the exhaust? There is a baffle on the stock exhaust that can be drilled with a hole saw. That may be enough to satisfy you. There are several YouTube vids on how to drill the the exhaust. You need a drill bit extension and a good hole saw. I don't recall the exact size hole saw but it seems like 1" or 1 1/2"

It is cheap enough and easy to do. If you don't like it, you just go with your original plan and buy an exhaust.

I have tossed this idea around but I came to the conclusion that if i don't like the bike any louder than it is I'd rather have the stock pipe to go back to.
