09 Yamaha V-Star 950 bogs when accelerating

Hey guys I have 09 Yamaha V-Star 950 with 3,000 miles. Whenever I'm at a stop sign or stop light when I go to accelerate and run thru the gears it bogs, feels like it takes forever to get up to 50-60mph. Could it maybe be throttle position sensor (TPS) or something is wrong with my fuel injection system.

I always start with the simple, I suggest changing the spark plugs, and drain the gas

Have you done anything recently where you had to disconnect the battery cables? Every time I did something electrical on my bike, it took a couple of days for the ECU to catch up to my riding.

I know you said that there is only 3000 miles on the bike, but have you checked your air filter? If you're not getting enough air, the computer won't give more gas to the motor for acceleration.

Just throwing these things out to help you diagnose before you need to take it to the shop.

A 2009 with 3,000 miles probably means that it has set idle a good bit. That could mean fuel delivery problem. I would check the fuel filter also. Augie

I'm always working very diligently to discover the obvious.
