intermittent miss

2006 Vstar 1100 Silverado. Has an intermittent miss when I keep constant throttle at low speeds. Doesn't miss when rocking on the throttle or off. Also doesn't miss at speeds over 45mph. Just when I cruise through town at like 25-35 and I'm keeping a constant throttle. It is annoying as heck. I'm thinking it may be the pickup coil, but that is an expensive guess.

Could be pilot jets are dirty. I had simular issue and found rust in fuel system from previous owner letting bike sit. If yours is not bad a fuel cleaner might do the trick. Check out: https://sites.google.com/site/vstar1...g/carb-jetting
There is a chart showing which jets are active at certain throttle opening. Good luck and keep us informed.

my 650 started doing that before the pickup failed completely. i still made home with with one cylinder constantly missing, glad it was only about 10 miles at about 30 mph. pull your choke out slightly if it go's away you'll know it's the carbs
