VStar Model Number Question

I'm having to buy some parts for my VStar since the Final Drive failed and I'm keep running across Bike Model numbers and I'm not sure how to find exactly what mine is.

I have a 2002 VStar 650 Silverado.
On Bike Bandit I found a 2002 Yamaha V-Star Classic 650 XVS650AP
I know the Silverado is basically a Classic so I was curious if my bike would fall under the XVS650AP

I've looked all over the bike and haven't found anything.

Thank You as always for any info you can give.

Glenn

I beleive there is a sticker on the left top frame tube under the seat that designates the model number.

Regretfully, the Sticker isn't there.

the model is part of the vin number on the neck, that number has everything even the oem paint code is in there, i'll look for the break down of yamaha vin numbers to see what i find..... type in your vin number into this link.......https://vindecoder.eu/yamaha all classics have an A in the vin number no A on a custom. it wouldn't matter on the drive anyway because there all the same as is all engine parts except the the left transmission cover, the classic uses a full cover and the custom uses a partial cover but they're interchangeable anyway
