The Yamaha V Scout

Guess it's fair to say I'm a fan of the new Indian Scout, and I guess (consciously and unconsciously) it steered some of the decisions I made when making my 2000 V Star Custom my own...

Thanks mate - I've ordered some leather from a guy in England who re-grips antique hickory golf clubs, which I'll be using on the handlebar grips. Really want some Cobra pipes too, and I'm sure I'll find plenty of other ways to spend my hard-earned...

Nice and clean. Like the satin finish. Is that paint or plasti dip?

Thanks fella, I tried going the vinyl wrap route first but it was a total bust - the fenders worked well but the tank was a different story entirely. Plus I wanted to de-badge the tank and wrapping over the decals didn't really work either as they showed through the vinyl.

Considered plasti dip, but my mate did that on his bike and the tank just got chewed by the gas spills. So I went the paint route, and glad of it. The satin clear coat turned out to be something of a challenge, but it all worked out in the end.

Thanks Joshua, appreciate the good vibes! All being well it'll look sweeter by the weekend once I've installed my new Cobra Speedster Longs exhaust =)

I've leather-wrapped the handlebar grips now too and changed out a few other bits and pieces - I'll post another pic once she's got her new pipes.

Easy, rider

Tan bags would look sweet - I haven't looked into getting some made yet but I bet you could find a leather guy to knock you up some. My seat was custom - I got it upholstered by a guy who had every kind and colour of leather (and vinyl) you could imagine. Custom all the way =)
