Electrical gremlin

So I recently bought a 2004 Yamaha V-Star 650. Love the bike. But i found out over the week that my turn signal fuse(10a) would blow if i had the blinkers on as I hit the brakes. So I attempted to troubleshoot the problem.

Phase 1: Replace the fuse
It would blow when brake was pressed when turn signal was engaged(and engine was started)

Phase 2: remove seats, fuel tank
I then traced all the wires and could not find any wires that were torn or frayed. Most of the wires are still in their sleeves and there doesnt seem to be any excessive pressure/twisting on the wires.

Phase 3: replace the fuse with a 15a(only fuse i had on hand)
I then removed the HEADLIGHT fuse(which is not blown) and started the bike. then applied turn signals and brakes and the turn signal fuse DID NOT blow.

So now I'm a little confused as to where to go from here.
