2000 vstar 650 clutch issue

At high rpms, I loose the additional power and it "slips" when I'm giving it power.

What causes this? Is this my clutch going out?

Sorry if this isn't in the right place

time to check the cable adjustment.you set the end of the cable where it attaches to the engine.it should have a small amount of play.. then adjust the lever end.. it should have a small amount. but first thing loosen the lever end and then set the engine end and finally set the play at the lever. if there is no play the cable is to tight and the clutch is not fully engaging.. the best thing would be check a shop manual.
