Question kickstand, dumb question..

07 v star 650 classic(not that i think it matters) dumb question, how tight should the bold holding the kickstand be? for the past year the kickstand has felt alright, and then about a month ago it started to feel really tight, then this past week its feel insanely easy to kick out. i checked the manual and its only advice is check for operation, use lubricant if needed. how tight should it be to make sure it doesn't vibrate the bolt off but make sure it doesn't make the stand too hard to push?

Clean & lubricate the pivot with lithium soap grease.
Torque it to 56 N*m or 41 ft.-lb.

Did you lube the stand when it was tight? Or did you have the bike serviced? I don't think that the stand pivot would just loosen by itself. Let us know what ypu did or found.

i didnt touch it. it just got really tight one day and then it got really loose. i lubed it and tightened it to 41 and it felt a little stiff, dropped it about a quarter turn form 41 and its snug but movable.
