R6 caliper swap

ive seen this done, is there anything I should know about it?

I was thinking geting a 99/00 front left R6 caliper to put on my '99 1100, is it a straight swap?

I've seen it done on the 650 and Road Star several times over the years.....no one reported anything extraordinary about the swap so I'd assume it's pretty straight forward. Not so sure about the 1100. I think you'd have to fabricate a mounting bracket to hold it in the proper place. It has a different caliper mounting location.

650 is a straight swap...and it stops 10x better than the stock caliper.

the 1100 has dual front discs, so you would need both right and left. I would think they would fit, but I couldnt guarantee it.

edit...
650 and road star calipers cross to each other. 1100 only to itself. you would have to do some figuring to see if it fit.

I know i would need both if I wanted to keep dual front brakes.. was gunna only get the left to open up the wheel make it look smoother, appears it wont be a straight swap though based on the second bit of what you said!
