2001 vstar 650 oil leak

Hey everyone, so my wife bought a 2001 vstar with only 13k miles. Got it home and put some miles on it and noticed it has an oil leak did some looking around the forum and the neutral switch seems to be common. here is the odd thing with her bike. it only leaks in gear. parked it in neutral and the leak stopped. so just wondering if anybody has had a similar experience or knows if that could still be related to the neutral switch? the bike had been sitting for a bit so im leaning toward the neutral switch. first vstar for me so far i like the bike.

thanks

On another forum this was a subject of discussion and the neutral switch was defined as the problem. I would go check that first.

I'm always working very diligently to discover the obvious.

Clean the switch area and see if that's where it's leaking. I could see it only leaking in neutral or gear, each position puts pressure on the switch differently and that could open up a crack...
