Exhaust Header

Hey guys, so I'm stripping down the bike and am planning on making a new exhaust for it and I've run into a question about the front exhaust header. It looks like it should just slip on and off the rest of the piping but it's either rusted in place or I'm completely off base about it coming off... so the question is does the piece circled in red separate from the rest of the pipe or no?

It doesn't come apart. Cut the tubing where you are going to add your pipes to and then weld away. Have fun!
