1500 miles less than one day V Star 1300

Two buddies and I left from Central Texas early yesterday morning and made it to Indianapolis in less than 21 hours. We stretched our legs during gas stops and loaded up on Red Bulls. Most comfortable long haul I've ever been on. Right thumb tingling a bit but everything else is fine. I think what made the ride more enjoyable were the Viking bags sissybar/backrest bag and the contoured kuryakyn Throttle Boss. Other guys rode a Victory Cross County and a HD Deuce. The Switchblade windshield also helped to fight fatigue, made this trip before on a Sportster and the wind did a number on me. No scenic photos we did the Interstate route the entire way. Great ride, I'm so glad I finally took the plunge and bought a cruiser. Lost my high beam on the way so I'll be getting a new bulb today. From what I've read it's a standard H4 or 9003 bulb.

Iron Butt,, I've lost interest in long rides. H4(ECU) is the bulb type and 9003 is a print # for H4 bulbs to be sold in the USA.
But that's out dated as all H4 bulbs are made too print# 9003 nowadays. Glade your trip was good.

It's been a blast second time making this trip. Thanks for the info confirming the bulb type!

First Cross Country I've seen that has no fairing ... I believe it's a Cross Roads, not a Cross Country.

your average for the trip was 71mph
you must have been hauling in the far-betweens

I did WP Beach FL to Buffalo years ago in 69 Cougar, about the same distance in 26 hours

Hats off to you on two wheels!

And yes, being able to lean back into something comfortable but firm makes all the difference.

PS - check the auto section of Walmart for your headlight bulb....

Maverick, your average speed is 1400 M / 1 month = 1.9 mph

I think smittyrock has you beat.

(sorry, could not resist :^)

I wouldn't ride 100 miles, much less 1,500 without my Kuryakyn Throttle Boss! That was the one thing I took off the old bike to put on the new one (but only because the new one already had Kuryakyn grips, or they'd have come along too...)
