Fitting Carbs into Carb Boots?

I rebuilt my Vstar 1100 carbs and am trying to install them back on the bike. What is the trick to getting them into the carb boots? I can get one in but not the second one. Trying to muscle it in is not working. I appreciate any advice.

Got it, thank you. I also applied a heat gun which helped soften the rubber.
