key pod for Gen 2 vmax

I. posted on the wrong forum, trying to find out what the strange key in a holder is for on a gen 2 max. I just bought a 2015 and can't find anything in the hand book on this half pound key. Any replies will be appreciated. Thanks, John

I'm wondering if there are any Gen II vmax owners out there. I am new here and asked a valid question. Don't understand why I haven't received a reply. I got two keys with my max. One is a normal looking key and the other is in a pod that youi have to turn to get it out of the pod. The whole thing is heavy and am wondering if it has other functions. Thanks in advance for any help

If you look in the VMAX forum you will see it is about the least viewed of all the other sections. So yeah probably very few and even fewer that read and post. An answer may take a while. Maybe it's just something to help prevent you losing the key. ?????
I'm going to make the suggestion of calling the dealer where you bought it and ask them.
