Hola from San Antonio

Bought a brand new 2013 vstar 1300 yesterday. I know what you're thinking...how could it be brand new and 5 years old? It sat as a dealer display all this time. Zero miles on the odometer, got one hell of a deal. Need a solution to an air cleaner problem. It bows out too far, and interferes with me getting at the brake pedal. Is there a flat cover I can get, without droppimg $300 on a new air system?

Not at all. We here on the forums collectively own a time machine and regularly make 'new' purchases.... membership has it's privileges.
Welcome, you're in for a ride.

Hi tf, welcome to the forum. Please share some pics with us, we love em here. Sounds like you probably got a heck of a deal, and we’re glad you joined us. You can get aftermarket air filter kits for a lot less than $300. I paid $150 for my aftermarket kit on eBay and installation was a breeze.
