Hello all,

Just joined this forum. I've been riding since 1980, mostly sport bikes. My wife bought me a new 2016 V Star 1300 deluxe last spring. I'm used to working on older bikes (80s). This my second new bike, my first one was a 1989 Ninja 750 in black. My wife bought me that one too. My previous bikes include a 77' RD400, 76 KH400, a couple of 82' CB705Fs and 81 CB900Fs, 83 GS1100, 89' Ninja 750, 82' GPZ750, 84' KZ750, 85' FZ750, and now my V Star. I just switched handlebars on the 1300 with nice bagger bars that bring my hands closer together and at shoulder height. Can't wait for better weather so that I can try them out. The stock handlebars caused a really bad muscle pinch right between the shoulder blades. Taking the fairing off to change the bars was fun. I'll post a little work instruction explaining how to remove the fairing incase anybody plans on doing this as well.

Cheers!

Never mind about photos of your motorcycle,

we need to hear more about this wife of which you speak!

Where did you find her?

Does she have a sister?

Hahaha thanks guys. My wife actually has 5 other sisters! Most are married and the ones who aren't I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies.

Welcome from Houston, Texas. Seems like you got here like a lot of us, sport bikes for years, then cruiser. The sport bikes for me was a lot of fun, but now days it just as much fun cruising for enjoyment of riding. Here's a few interesting threads to check out when you get time.

Welcome from the Maritimes. I agree with KCW, any wife who buys you new motorcycles is a keeper! Hoping for spring like weather here too. Won't be long now!
