Smile New guy from Roll Tide Country

Hi all,

Last few weeks got a 2007 V-Star 650 - red to match Alabama's colors. Been out of biking over 30 years, but then my brother got a 1100 Honda, and the bike bug bit me again. Love riding.

First vehicle I ever owned was a Yamaha bike, in Hawaii, way back in 1965 when I was 16. Loved that little bike. Then over years following owned several Yamaha 250s. In those days, that was the typical bike size, unless you had a Harley.

Today, my 650, while a huge jump up in HP for me, is a small cruiser. The times they are a changing. Mostly I plan on cruising the Alabama back country roads with my brother, and maybe driving to campus for my classes where I am on faculty at UA.

Hope to learn a lot and get great ideas from members here.

Thanks, docdixon

I was wondering how many times I could use your line before you noticed.

I guess the number is ...... One

Heck, it takes longer to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop!

Thanks guys. As to being able to 'picture this' consider that my first Yamaha was a 60cc bike! It looked like a motorcycle, not a scooter, and it was black, but even with an engine that small I got tons and tons of riding and fun exploring the world on that bike.
