Bought a 2010 650 v star last month. Much nicer machine than my two Yamaha 650 70's and 80's vintage twins. Has short shots on it but I made new baffles to quiet them down. Much better now. Removed the AIS stuff and pretty much zero backfire noise. Am looking now at Rox pivoting risers. I am stretching too much for the handlebars. Have been reading great info on this forum, glad to be a member!

its a great bike. Have you tried loosening up the handle bars and moving them forward or back?

The guy I bought my 650 from was a foot shorter than me. After riding for a few days I realized the handle bars were hitting my knees when I turned hard.

Adjusted them forwards quite a bit - it was like a whole different motorcycle then - it felt much bigger!
