we have a few threads dedicated to the crazy things we see happening on the road:
https://www.starbikeforums.com/forum...e-because.html

if you dont have your license yet, sign up for the beginners MSF riding course. Its about $280, three days, you get to practice wild things on their motorcycles,

you get your license after the 3 day class (the next day) and you get 10% off your MC insurance for the rest of your life

which will be a lot longer if you take the course.

if you have your license already congrats, and take the MSF course anyway :^)

One of the important things in the course is learning to recognize all the dangers and risks that are out there, like people holding cell phones in their lap so no one can see them (LOL!) instead of looking out the windshield. Being able to minimize the risks by how and where you choose to ride will go a long way to keep you from getting hit.

welcome from upstate NY - not too far away for a day trip when the weather gets better.

BTW, a lot of us started riding on the street when our kids were all grown up and on their own - I got my license when I was 55, only regret I did not get it when I was 25.

Welcome from Atlantic Canada. I've had bikes when I was younger but took a 20 year hiatus to raise a family. Picked up a VStar 2 years ago and I absolutely love it. It's my daily driver in the summer. Fair warning - it's highly addictive. Post a pic of your ride when you can. We love pictures here.

Hi Thanks for the advice. I did take a rider safety course last year. It was a 3 day class. I will most likely be taking a follow up class given by Motorcycle OH. I wanted to get a few miles in the saddle before taking the follow up course. Just waiting on the salt and left over winter to be washed away so I can get back out there. So to satisfy my fix I just finished installing some OEM passing lamps and I am waiting on my upgrade to make my rear turn signals running/brake/turn signals with a little flash as an attention getter. Here is hoping for warm weather and safe riding soon!
