Newbie question

Hello! I have a quick question. While trying to look up details about a 2007 1100 roadstar, I keep finding posts only talking about a vstar 1100. Are these the same thing?? Thank you

I don't think Roadstar came in 1100 cc. I believe Roadstar engine is quite a bit larger. Might be the reason you can't find an 1100 version. V-Stars go up to 1100 cc in engine size.

Welcome from Houston, Texas. The Road Star is a 1602cc or 1670cc bike. The Vstar 1100 is actually 1063cc. Here's some info that might help.

The Yamaha XV1600A is a cruiser-style motorcycle called the Yamaha Road Star or in Europe the Yamaha Wild Star. It has been produced from 1999 through current model Year 2012. The 1999-2003 models were the same 1602 cc naturally aspirated engines. And in 2004 they changed the displacement to 1,670 cc.

The Yamaha XVS 1100 DragStar, sold as the V-Star 1100 in North America, is a motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha Motor Corporation. It comes in two versions, the XVS1100 Custom and the XVS1100A Classic.

The 1100 is considered a middle weight cruiser and is a great bike, put over 65k on mine. The Road Star is a heavy weight cruiser, has lots of torque and very happy on the open road. Hope this answers some of your questions.
