I was drawn to this forum to see what others had to say about the star venture. I follow longhaulpaul and bill Johnson’s race hill farms on YouTube. I’ve been riding motorcycles for about 18 years. I have owned 20 plus motorcycles in that time, many of which were Yamaha’s. Very happy with the brand.
Welcome from Houston, Texas. There's a good following here for the SVTC. Pull up a chair and stay for a while. Do you have a current ride and trading up.
Welcome from Columbus, OH! You will find more info here than you could ever imagine. There are many riding enthusiasts who will assist in any way possible to get you on the road and keep you there safely and quickly.
I own a few bikes currently, 2013 Yamaha super Tenere, 2013 Honda Goldwing, 2014 Kawasaki concours 14 and a 2015 Indian Roadmaster. Was thinking about trading in one or two, the Roadmaster is a great machine but the SVTC is easily the better bike, maybe without the power, nostalgia etc.
Welcome there are a lot of nice knowledgeable people here that are always willing to help out. By your experience it pretty much sounds like you know what you are doing and looking for. Stop by often
Thanks for all the welcome’s. Look forward to using this site and it’s resources. Watching what Kawasaki is going to unveil at the end of the month but I’m leaning strongly towards the SVTC to replace my Roadmaster with 41k on the clock presently. I feel Polaris is getting away from what they started and the prices are continually climbing while the bikes values are going down. I’d rather buy a great bike with great value.
I think I would have already made the swap, but financially I’m upside down about $4,500 on my Indian despite buying it nearly $6k under market value 3 years ago, not including all the accessories and engine work that I didn’t think I was paying for. The SVTC is not a popular bike in PA at all, only 2 dealerships have them discounted below $20k unlike the southern states that seem like they are plenty and giving them away. I can’t seem to part with my full size Wing either because nothing can replace it especially ever since they came out with the mini wing in 2018. So there in lies the dilemma so to speak. Swallow the $4,500 roll over, or wait till spring and hope for better trade numbers.. went from $13,800 in July to $10k in late August on a $30k plus originally invested bike..
