Howdy from Dayton, TX

Hello all

Just bought a 2000 V Star 1100 Custom. The.guy I bought.it from had started stripping.it.down for the bobber look and I just picked up where he left off. This is my second motorcycle but my first in somewhat running condition. Just waiting on my max air kit so I can get the carbs right. I will post more in the appropriate forum when I get further into it.

Ride on

Welcome wtk!

Great bike you have there, but I'm a bit biased. There are a lot of bobber build threads on the site, so enjoy and then start one of your own.

What prompted the max air kit (is that a jet kit or an air intake kit?).

Most here will tell you PODs are the way to go for intake.

But first, you'll need to post some pics of that beautiful blue machine!

Posted picks in.my album. My phone is not cooperating when I try to post in the message. As for the max air kit I read good reviews and didn't have the stock air box so I went with that.

Quick question though has anyone heard of much success with tuning the carbs to run shorty pipes. The guy I bought it from cut the pipes too short I think and I need to know whether I should have new pipes fabbed or if I can tune it like that

I've seen some pretty short "curb burner" pipes that tuned just fine but without seeing yours (hint hint) it's hard to say ......
