FNG here...

Greetings. I'm a 35 year old Reservist and college student from Atlanta. I recently acquired Molly, my 2000 VXS Classic from an older gentleman who wanted my sportbike in trade (midlife crisis, I guess). I love this thing more than I thought I would. But now I have the unusual problem of having too specific of desires for her customization. Does anyone have any suggestions for custom goodies purveyors? As an example, I'd really like to put an Army crest over the air cleaner. Harley abounds with those, but the Yamahas are sadly neglected in this regard. Any ideas? Oh, and Hi. Nice to meet you all.

Greetings, and welcome to the funny farm! Now post pics or they're gonna yell at ya. It seems to me as I was looking for something else, I came across a site that did custom metal covers for the air cleaner. If I can find it again, I'll post it. How close to Hotlanta? I go up to a place NW of there pretty often.

Thanks

I was hoping to find and post one without the old lady's cage in the back ground. And if she ever reads this I'm dead. Either way, thanks for the welcome. And thanks for the potential help with the breather cover. I'm not 20 minutes outside ATL proper: Stone Mountain. Weather in Atlanta lately has a sense of humor: Hot, then cold, then wet, then dry, then a 90% chance of your guess is as good as mine. Ride safe.

Hey weekend warrior, welcome to the 4m. Beautiful ride! If it can be found, someone here will know where. Thanks for your service too :-)

Welcome Weekend-Warrior!

Great ride - really love the white walls.

As for the air box cover, search ebay - I recall someone from Cali offering custom airbox inserts (anything you can design).

You might also send a PM forum retired navy member Basswacka, his bike is below and it appears he has a custom airbox insert with a military theme (can't zoom in enough to be certain though).

Welcome to the forum. Great looking bike and you have a blank canvass to start you're modding frenzy . An idea for your badge insert. I took my cap badge (ex Air Force) and placed the clip between the holder plate of the sissy bar cushion and the cushion. Looks pretty good, pic's tomorrow.

Ride safe and keep it shiny side up.

Love the color combo, classic looks are the best IMO.
