New to this forum

Hi,
Recently picked up a 2013 950 Tourer for Cheryl so I thought I would sign up here to learn more about the bike. Over the years and various bikes I've had, I've learned forums can be a great source of info.

I may ask questions that seem obvious, but I try not to assume that my way is the right or only way.

Welcome Riding Man (and wife :-)

Great bike the 950, and great choice of forums. You'll find this group is an active bunch and very knowledgeable. And no need to worry that we'll assume your way is the right way. After all, you chose the Victory . . ..

Thanks for the welcomes.
OK, a bit about us,
Cheryl started riding with me about 13 years ago. A couple years later, she decided she wanted to ride her own. She has had an MC licence for ever..., just hadn't ridden in years. We got her a Honda Shadow 700, she rode that for a few years, next was a Shadow 1100, in 2009, she got a VTX1300. Everything was great until a cage ran a stop sign, she wound up T-Boning the car. Broken collar bone, broken ribs, punctured lung..., but she healed. The bike was repaired and waited in the garage for her to decide if she wanted back in the saddle or not. Over the next 2 years, she would ride a little, but said she didn't feel comfy on that bike. We did a lot of looking this spring, looked at lots of bikes, various brands, various size engines. The 950 Tourer fit her well, it's lighter and easier for her to manipulate so, we're giving it a try. The first 3 days, she put 100 miles on the new bike, that's more than she put on the VTX last year, so I'm hoping this will be a good fit for her. We've had a couple comments about going down in engine size, but if she's comfy on it, that's what matters.

Her bike is pretty much stock, had the engine guards put on as part of the sale, they just had to get them ordered.

As for myself, been riding since I could balance a bike. Had a few years when I didn't own a bike, but for the last 15 years, I always had at least one. I've had many Honda's, a Suzuki, a Harley, now the Victory.

Since we've been together, we have toured the 48. Hit every state on a motorcycle. Our longest trip was in 2011, 17 days on the road, 5500 miles. Plans are being made for Alaska in 2014.

That's enough for now, sorry it's long, but this is the introduction thread.

Now for the picture police...
