Riding the bike home a 100 miles is a nice first ride..
Is the wife ready to get on the back ?
you have some beautiful roads down south and nice riding weather.
Indeed was a nice ride, and it was on the interstate. Was riding between 65 and 70.
Wife's not ready yet to get on the back. She's not the riding type. So I guess I am one lucky man. Just me and my bike, to rule the road.
I think worth mentioning what I observed. On the interstate the traffic stalled and was moving at snail's pace for about 30 mins. I then could feel the heat of engine beneath me. And then the engine stops. It is in neutral. I try to start it and it cranks for couple of seconds, starts, runs for few seconds and then stops. A couple of times it happened, there was quite some smoke from the exhaust and I thought I smelled gasoline too. I let the engine stay off for 30-45 seconds or so. The traffic is not moving much anyway. Then I start it and it runs alright.
I thought it happened because the engine got too hot by being idle for few minutes. The temperature was about 85 I think.
So, anyone know if this could indeed have been because of over-heating and is normal, or should I get it serviced ASAP?
I am thinking of getting just the oil change which I will do at home myself.
