New to me V Star 1100 Custom

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2000 V Star 1100 Custom...well rescued it would be more accurate since it had been sitting for several years...not sure how long exactly (the tire were 12 years old and the lady at motor vehicle said it hadn't been registered in 6 years). Well after a modest investment in the restoration of the carbs, starter clutch, new fluids, fork rebuild, various gaskets and o rings, tires...(well you get the idea) she's running and riding once again. Still needs some TLC to be perfect but I am getting there. So far I have been able to do all of the work myself and with the help of the forum I am hoping to continue to give this old girl a new lease on life. As for me I have been a bike junkie most of my 40 years. Started out on mini bikes and dirt bikes when I was about 6 or 7 and got my motorcycle endorsement when I was 16. Still maintain my passion for dirt but as I get older my interest seems to be shifting more toward cruising and touring.

Welcome to the gang Dan. Get that fancy camera out and take a few pics and post them on here. Don't be shy to post often and share some stories, knowledge and your views on cooking on planks.

Ride safe and keep it shiny side up.
