Just got the 1100 in Baltimore!

Hello everyone. I just bought a 2000 V-Star 1100 Classic two nights ago. The funny part is that I bought it with every intention of using it for a Bobber project. My wife pointed out how awesome the bike looked as it was. I have to agree. I am preparing for the inspection to get it registered but I am stoked! Looking forward to learning everything there is about this bike!

you may be in for a surprise about your 1100. in 2000 there were a select number of the bikes that came with a secret that can be found just under the petcock in your gas tank. if you remove it and feel along the edge of the tank next to the lip you may find an aluminum housing that feels out of place. if you do then your bike is one of the few that has special computer chip that allows it to shift into a 'hidden' 6th gear once you hit 60mph. but to activate it, you must flip the switch that is on the bottom of this aluminum housing in your tank.

nah i'm joking with you. enjoy your ride and howdy.

In the words of the wise Larry the Cable Guy, "That there's funny, I don't care who you are.". Thanks for the laugh Bevo1981!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I've ridden for years but never gotten my license. My wife is now insisting that I get my license since I have a "nice" bike. After looking at many bikes the past few months I have to say that I love the V-Star!

Mate they are a lovely bike, in this country their centre of gravity when riding is well known and unparalleled, and when someone buys one they seem to stick with them. Glad your enjoying the site, take care.
