New guy, and is this a good deal?

Well, I live in what is known as the star city of the south...roanoke va. so i thought i would purchase a star bike to complete the circle.

anyway, I have agreed to purchase a bike and I want to know if I have a good deal on my hands or not. I can still back out, but i dont really want to. Just let me know what you think.

Forgive my yamaha immaturity as well:
01 Vstar 1100 custom
Bub? pipes, sound great but sounded like they run a bit rich
chrome everything, corvin seat, nice saddlebags, forward controls, tank bra, aftermarket mirrors with blinkers, and little extra chrome pieces throughout.
He has a custom Paint job (blue or blueish purple) that I will probably change. Never been down, seems to be in great shape.
17K

Asking 3500 I got him down to 3200.

What do you think? is it a go? I have always been a Honda rider but I really like the custom styling. Let me know!

he said he had back surgery and cant comfortably ride anymore. He isnt going to buy another one according to him so I figure its probably lagit.

I dont like paying full book value. I figured it would be at least a couple under book because of the extras and the book price for retail is like 3600 i think.

I like it alot. I guess that has to account for something...haha

Have you already tried it? Or did you just view a picture?

The best would be to see it and do a little ride with, to see if you feel really good.

But otherwise, request all the bills that the seller may have, especially for routine maintenance. In any case, it seems to me a good deal, especially if the bike is as good as you say.

PS : Welcome !

yep, got to ride it and I loved it. The larger front tire on the custom and new corbin seat made it a really smooth and friendly ride. I think it is going to be perfect. As long as the price is really good (which from you guys it sounds like it is) then I am ready to go!

Thanks guys.

check the blue book value of that model bike with that many miles, and remember that accessories don't add that much value to a bike. accessories really just add perceived value.

howdy. be sure to vote for bike of the month and submit your own for voting once you get it
