New [to me] "06 V* 1100 Classic

Hello, y'all from sunny Jacksonville, FL!

Just bought a second hand V* 1100 Classic - my first motorcycle, although in 2.5 years, I put over 38,000 miles on my first ride - a Suzuki Burgman 400 Maxi-Scooter, but it needs more $$ for repairs than want to put into it, so I bought the V*.

It's been fun learning to use the transmission and clutch - 1500 miles or so and it's pretty good, though I still stall occasionally.

Just added wiring for my GPS [don't know how the prior owner managed without one! and an OEM luggage rack which came with a sticker rating it for 6 pounds Really??!?!

Anyway, the bike is a blast and I've already learned a huge amount from other strings in this fabulous forum, which I'm still exploring! Thanks to the moderators and all you members and contributors!

Ride On, y'all,
m

Mordechai

Good to see a fellow Floridian. This is a wonderful gathering of great folks. Enjoy and give us a howler if your travels take you south (north of Cuba).

Welcome to our group of mostly normal, somewhat informed members. Hope you enjoy the ride.

Never owned one either. Back in the day I used one of those things they printed on paper that was impossible to re-fold. Now I just ride and eventually manage to find my way home.

I know how to use maps and like them, but they still can't get you to that guy's address you know, but just can't quite remember which streets/roads/short cuts you need to take.

I like to get myself someplace I've never been, then go a little further and use the GPS to find "home"! Without the GPS, it may take me longer than my wife will allow to "find my way home". And I have enough trouble with a map in the car, but much worse on the bike

Nice to see such friendly folk here!

Welcome!

I am a GPS fan too and I just put on the holding bracket so I can take my GPS on the bike. At this point I just turn it on when I'm lost so I save the battery. How did you wire for the GPS?
