new from ohio

Just dropped in to say hi. currently ride a 99 road king but planning on adding a roadstar within the next couple months. Been riding for 24 years, my wife rides also.
Wanted to come on here so I can learn some more about these bikes before I decide on what year or model that I want.

Welcome.

Take a look at a Strat/Liner before you commit on the Roadstar.

thanks for the info. I checked out the strat also. Just feels to big for my tastes. (nice bike though) I won't be leaving the bike stock. not sure what i'm going to do with it, probaly make a bobber out of it. I like the softail style frame that the road star has. the weight, size, and feel is very good as stock. other than the handlebars (i didn't like) I could ride the RS as is.
Been trying to find the answers to a few question:
did they have 1 carb or 2
does 1 fluid lube everything? (engine, trans, primary)
did they have a model with the silver motor but a chrome front end
any difference from 99-03
are the bars 1"

Love to help but I've never owned a Roadstar.

Check the model-specific section of the forum and I'm sure thousands, OK dozens, well, maybe one or two proud owners will leap out of the woodwork with enlightenment. Unlikely until after Happy Hour, but give it a shot...

Welcome! Plenty of opinions, recommendations and just simple encouragement from folks on the forum. Should get you the right info prior to final commitment on which model to go for. Good luck.
