Hey friends

Just got my new VStar 1300 Saturday.. And love it... Had a 750 for years... And this is really nice, having the extra muscle..
Question...the book says to run regular gas.. I've always run Premiun in my bikes in the past... What do you all think ?

agreed. use the octane recommended for your model. it was designed for that octane and will/should have no performance gains with a higher octane.

Oh ya, I forgot all about your gas question....
You should only use premium if your engine is pinging (pre-ignition) when useing regular gas. Premium is needed for the higher compression ratio engines which are more susceptible to pinging.

I've never had an issue with 'pinging', occasionally i get a loud 'pong'. Should i change paddles
