New member - looking at 08 V Star Classic

Hi everyone,
I'm 63 and I haven't owned a bike for 5 years. My last bike was an 03 Honda Shadow Spirit 750. I'm looking at an 08 Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom (red with flames). The bike has 4K miles on it. The bike doesn't have any options and is factory original.

Any comments on this bike (good or bad)? How is the 650 V twin compared to the Honda 750 V twin? Same power? I only ride single and don't plan on any long interstate trips. Any comments anyone can give on the V-Star 650 is appreciated.

Thanks,
Tbirdtony

Sounds like something you'd be happy with. Light weight, easy to maneuver, fairly comfortable. The vstar line is a very nice line of bikes. I can't comment on the honda shadow, as I've never had/rode one.

Take the plunge, you only live once.

if you like the power of the honda then the v star will be comparable but with more vibration. and if you're not doing any long traveling or high speeds then you'll love the v star.
