New Rider

Just bought 06 Vstar 1100 Custom with 10K. Bike sat for about a year. Runs good but a little rough. Looking for advice on doing carb service, tune up, and valve adjustment (I am not sure when the last time it was done). Put in high octane and Seafoam to clean system. Also looking for advice and info on best seat and exhaust modifications. Doing short rides now, but plan to go longer in Fall. Wondering how well bike rides with passenger. First street bike - rode dirt and dual sport for many years. Any riding advice is welcome Thanks!

Congrats and welcome. 1st bit of info to offer is purchase or download a service & repair manual. It gives instructions for all the maint. you are asking about. Also check out the 1100 wiki page http://https://sites.google.com/site/vstar1100kb/home. It has tons of repair info as well as in depth advice and instructions for tons of modifications like pipes and rejetting the carbs.
