Hi from NY.

Hi I'm from 13074. I purchased 2012 leftover star 1300. I have a consern though, the engine started to develop a knock around 100 miles it knocks under light load but not under acceleration. It knocks while down shifting and ideling down. Have any of you had this. I changed the oil at 540 miles and it had no affect.

Hi David, and welcome. Is your bike still under factory warranty, and what kind/grade of fuel are you running in your bike? If you're still under warranty I'd have it checked out, just my 1.5 cents worth. Ride safely!

Welcome to the forum from southwestern PA. Try running regular 87 oct. and see if that doesn't cure the knock sound.

So I went to my local dealer instead of the one I bought it at and the tech came out listened to it reved it a bit and said "some of the 1300 can make a little noise but I wouldn't worry sounds good to me" he also said he has never had to take a 1300 engine aprart. It makes me feel better to hear that.
