Greetings from NC

Just joined tonight after lurking for a while. I'm looking for a cruiser bike and like what I'm hearing from Yamaha/Star owners. I'm just waiting for a few pieces to fall into place before I pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Welcome to the site, resqguy. Feel free to ask questions about any of the bikes you're considering. You'll get good answers here.

For example, if you were to ask "Hey, Caliente Pocket, can you tell me what the greatest bike in the history of the world is?", I'd answer "Of course, resqguy. Why, it's the V-Star 950! You should consider getting one of them."

howdy. i am an unbiased stranger who just happened upon this site. and it was in part due to someone asking me recently, yo bevo1981, i'm looking for the greatest bike in the history of the world. do you by any chance know which one that is? i pondered the lad's inquiry for a while before coming to the conclusion that it must be the V Star 950. and i should know. i'm an expert.

Don't listen to them resqguy... the 1100 is SOOOO much better than a 950 - especially if you want to mod it

I don't mean to stir the pot but my decision is between a 1300 and a Roadliner S.

Man I am so glad I found this and similar sites. After looking into the nuts and bolts of the Stars the shortcomings of other brands become obvious (ie. single front rotor on a 700lb bike, shaft drive, etc).

Welcome aboard my friend. They all speak with fork ed tongue. You would be on the right track with a liner. They are the best bike in the history of the world. Good luck with your
purchase.

Welcome to the 4M.

All the prior comments are good as gold but some assumptions may have been made. There are different levels of cruiser-ority (hybrid word for cruiser superiority).

The lower cc'd bikes (950 and less) would be your "intro to cruisers" choice.
Middle range cc'd are as the description implies.
Liners RULE!

so considering the undisputed facts, the choice should be an easy one for you to make....I hope I haven't influenced your decision in any way.

Well let me tell ya! Forget most of whats above and go for the 1100. Make sure it's RED and hold on for the fastest ride. That's my unbiased opinion of course .

Don't forget to post a pic of your ride once you've chosen that nice RED 1100

Ride safe and keep it rubber side down.
