Hello from Erie, PA

Greetings. New to Yamaha, purchased a 2006 Tour Deluxe with only 4200 miles on March 29, and have put 2900 miles on since then. Ride about 90 miles per day to/from work. Last bike that I bought was in 1973, a brand new 850cc Norton Commando. Am adjusting to the Yamaha's increased weight, but mostly to the engine whine. Is a schrill whine common with these beastsmachines? So noticeable people ask if something is wrong. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the 4M.
This is the first that I've heard about a loud whine noise? Did the previous owner make any changes to the air intake?
