Got a old vstar from a friend for 500 buxs so I decided to bobber it. I know many don't like that but I couldn't stand the sight of that old thing.

I will post some questions in the tech forum as I have run into some problems. This project has been going on for well over 1 year. I took a 5 months break and now Im trying to finish it and i just cant remember some things.

Here are some pictures of the project.

The day I got it ufffffff! how ugly

20 minutes after I got her

Hi gt10, welcome to the forum. Nice intro and with pics! Nothing wrong with a bobber, I'm building one myself. Keep us updated, and what part of Florida are you from? Was there recently.

Hi Guys in the stuart area south of Melbourne and happily wayyyyy north of palm beach and miami!

As far as the build goes:

I couldn't stand the sorry state of it so even though i just figured id cruise around as it was.... it was bugging me and something had to be done.

So a few days later....

I told my wife i would just clean it up ...... yea right

46k on this one. did some minor work (preventative maintenance)

In the middle of this project i told my wife i needed a new tool.

But I didn't like it silver,

So then came the rest! Still couldn't decide on a color.

I finally decided on this one- just because it wasn't so popular and i wanted my Vstar to look like it was a modern 1940 bike.

So then i decided id get some new tires - whitewalls!

Notice anything? The idiot at the bike shop put the rear tire on backwards! better to do it yourself these days!

Antique Vtg Ford Chevy Car Truck Rat Hot Rod Cowl Headlamp Headlight Lamp Lens | eBay

Oh anybody want a set of forks and the triple tree for a 2001 1100?

Handle bars came in!

I cut the fender section out of the old stock fender. However i didn't like it so in the trash it went.

This is where I stopped. And last night i started again! Work had me too busy for my projects.

Trying to figure out where these two wires go any help is very appreciated.

I know this is engine ground strap - but engine to frame or engine to ?

Also this wire coming from the pump and fuse area under tools. I would have thought it is a ground but the shielding is black the wire is blue to faded green.

Thanks for any help and hope to learn some things here.

More pictures to come!

Hey Keith! Pictures are a must and without feedback and criticism are lacking. Its the best thing to if you want a project like this to look good! Any ideas let me know. Im stuck on the solo seat mounting, rear fender install and the front brakes but more on that to come. I guess in my long post so far I forgot to mention its a 2001 Vstar 1100 and I am on a very tight budget on this one.
