I am sure there is lots of info and users to assist you on that subject. I am also new to the XVS1300, only awaiting the delivery of my 2009 on Wed..

If you are asking me then Yes I am fairly new. I am a returning motorcycle rider after 35 years, and just purchased a 2009 VStar 1300 Tourer. Took my Motorcycle Safety Course back in Jan and now ready to get back into again.

Jason, the best advice I can give you is figure out what parts you want, shop around, prices vary place to place, and buy quality stuff. Lot's of websites to shop from. Keep us updated with your progress.
