Hello!

Hi all, wanted to say hello! I'm new to street bikes, but have been riding dirt bikes for a few years. Being that my mind and my back couldn't agree on my real age, I opted for a "smoother" ride. I recently purchased a 2006 V-Star 650 classic Silverado. Big jump from the ttr-125 I was riding on the trails, but I've been having a great time riding it and learning to maintain it! Glad to join this group and hope to learn a lot more about street bikes/riding.

P.S. I originally posted my intro in the wrong spot. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to highjack that thread!

Welcome to the forum Mom. So the bod is telling you that motocross is for kids eh. I know the feeling all to well. I'm 26 with 30 years of experience at it . You'll love the 650. It's a great machine that loves the road and will bring you a smile or two. The only down side is that you most probably will catch CCitiss fairly fast. We have a few members here that need to see pics, we call them pic whores eh . So could you post some of yours? We promise we won't get too exited, much, a bit....

Ride safe and keep it shiny side up.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Hopefully the pics will post (for those who asked). Haven't done anything to the bike other than cut the windshield down, and an oil change. I bought some reflective rim tape, just haven't put it on yet; new brake pads next weekend. The "Eklipes" add-on up front...can anyone tell me what this is for? GPS? Radio? Phone charger? I was hoping it might be a different way to plug in the battery tender, cuz I'm already tired of taking the battery cover off/on frequently.

Same boat here, feels good having a 650 Classic, just smooth and reliable bike. Congrats on yours and welcome here.

Get a battery tender jr. You can wire it permanently to your battery and leave the weather protected quick connect cable hanging outside the bike just under the seat area. I have mine hooked under the passenger peg to not interfere with anything and after a days riding I just connect it to the charger. 2 seconds and done. Have done this with every bike I've owned and works like a charm.

Vstar2001, no disrespect meant man it was just a joke about us liking to see the other members bike. Check out some ofthe older post o here and you'll see a few references to this effect.
