Unhappy 1700 Midnight Star Engine Knock

I have a 2004 1700 Roadstar Midnight Star, that has an engine knock under load. It has 17,000 miles. I don't know how long it has had this knock, but replaced the HardKrome Long Shots with stock exhaust, and now hear the knock. When downhill, or not under load I don't hear it. I adjusted the valves, but still have the noise. Anyone had a similar problem?

1) Welcome to the forum

2) When i here the term 'knock' i usually associate that discription with main or rod bearings that have 'given up the ghost'

3) When you re-installed the stock pipes did you re-adjust jetting (and ignition if possible) to compensate?

No I haven't re-adjusted jetting. I have it at a shop now and I think that is the first thing they are going to look at.
Thanks.
