New ( To Me ) 2000 V-Star classic

Hi all,

Got my self a 2000 Classic, 30 years aftyer I sold my 1100 Suzi GSX, even had to go to bike school to get my licence ( FL Requirement )

Bike has done 26000 miles and seem to be in a very good condition.

Could someone advise me the correct back wheel or centre stand for this bike, never owned a bike without a build in centre stand. ( Old Timer?)

Also where would be the best place to find out more about in helmet Bluetooth Systems.

Joe, first off congrats on your new toy. You're gonna love it. To answer your question about bluetooth for helmets. I've tried a couple and am currently using the Sena SMH10 bluetooth headset and intercom. The sound is incredibile and very loud. I have a little hearing problem and this set is the only one I can hear clearly. You can google online and find it for about $160. Lots of features and easy to use (if your phone supports it, you can answer and place calls by voice). The only disadvantage I've found is that if you connect to another Sena unit (with a riding buddy) the range is only about 1/2 mile.

Welcome to the forum Joe. Can't really help you out with the blue tooth issue but ican with the center stand. There isn't any on the 1100. You only have a side stand. I guess Yamaha figured that it would only be used to help service the rear tire so they dispensed with it.

Ride safe and keep it shiny side up.

Welcome to the 4M, enjoy your new ride and keep your head on a swivel.. I can't help with either question, but I've looked at the Bluetooth sets before & I agree with Postmaster Sena seems to be a good product depending if you have a full bucket or a 1/2. I suppose how you feel about a mike boom. Good luck ride safe.

+1 on the Sena. I also have apt he SMH10 dual pack. Unlike many BT systems the audio quality is very good.

Welcome, and thanks for the nice pics. - we didn't even need to ask.

As for the Bluetooth, I looked at the carda units but the boom mike didn't fit my full face helmet well.

I then tried the Uclear boom-lees setup. I occasionally find the volume too low but no other complaints. The mic pics up so well that my wife can't tell m on the bike riding on the highway - and my modular helmet isn't super quite by any stretch.

I listen to pandora or my iTunes all over town and can take a call from my iPhone 5 with voice commands.

Price was $135 on sale locally at cycle gear.
