1st Intro Post

Obviously I am new here, bought a 2014 (left over)Black VStar 1300 Tour last Apr. and retired in Nov 2016. I have owned an RD350 , 71 XS1B 650, 73 & 74 TS750, 77 XS 750 triple , and a 78 black XS650 which marriage and kids made last for many years. It still ran well when sold 10-12 years ago ( my hiatus from riding). I never really liked the color scheme of black w/white detail. So guess what I found I could afford when looking for a bike? YES, a Black w/white trim V Star 1300 Tour!!! I think if Yamaha would drop the white trim they would not have left over bikes in the warehouse! Anyway I put 1600 mi. on it while working full time and will add more when Indiana weather allows this year. My wife refuses to ride anymore so it may make sense my plan to photograph every cemetery in Ind. was approved by her as she thinks bikers should know where the nearest one is. Anyway, it gives me day trip places to go. I will be riding with some guys from church occasionally but mostly alone. I added Yam. lowers and use a 10" android for GPS and an accurate speedo! read out. I have a power supply and Bluetooth sound sys. I will add after the warranty ends in May. I'll cut the windshield down as well since I ride alone.

Welcome to the forum charlie, very nice intro! We too are awaiting better weather to ride in. Thursday morning we woke to another inch of snow here in the mountains, oh well spring is right around the corner.

Welcome Charlie. That is indeed a nice ride. Hope the weather clears up for you soon. We got 18" of snow yesterday and gonna get slammed again on Monday. Oh well, like Keith said, spring is just around the corner.

Well maybe a couple of corners in this neck of the woods, but it's always showed up at some point.

Photograph every cemetery in Indiana, huh? Sound very interesting. I've thought it would be cool to do a theme ride type of season. My personal quest, I guess, has been to find new state forests, town forests, and hiking trails.

Welcome to the forum! Can't wait for Spring as well. Nine to ten inches, where I am in Massachusetts, and more on the way between now and Monday!

Welcome again to our forum! Although lots of us are snowbound we are busy prepping, reading MC magazines or even refreshing our skills and minds referring to previous MC training manuals, DVD's and whatever we have on the subject for riding and staying safe. Also a time to do the work projects on our rides! You have a great bike to enjoy those day trips, etc. YammyV

Most of Indiana is corn and bean fields so just riding can be boring. I was surprised to find places with really old markers and sayings on them can be very interesting. Thanks for the warm greeting.
