Virginia Beach

We are going to Virginia Beach next month in the cage, but we may take the bike down later in the summer. Any good suggestions for things to do or see or places to ride that we can scope out on our first trip?

I've haven't tried it yet but a buddy of mine says there is a great ride around the James River using Rt. 5 and 10. I found the link below it might help.

Thanks. Looks like a great scenic ride over and near the water. We will check it out next month. Anything has to be better than Indiana flatlands with corn fields and all.

IMHO Colonial Parkway is THE place to ride on a beautiful day in Hampton Roads. Lots of room on the road, woods, beaches, large open areas, and lots of places to stop and take in the view.

I agree the CP is really nice and lots of stops at historic sites. But it's a short ride only about 26 or 30 mile one way if I recall. Really nice ride, parts along the York river, 45 mph speed limit (i think), very nice roads. You cant go wrong there.
